What’s so bad about MSG (E621)?
MSG is used as a flavour enhancer which allows food producers
to cut down on quality and increase profits; they can make up for the
loss of flavour when they omit "real" ingredients by adding MSG.
Did you know that for
decades, MSG has been
used by medical researchers
to induce brain damage,
especially brain lesions, in
young rats and mice, and even
in primates.
And for decades, MSG has also
been used by medical researchers
to cause obesity in young
laboratory animals.
Many scientists now believe that
current childhood obesity epidemic
mirrors exactly the increased
use of MSG in everyday foods.

What is organic food?
Organic foods are foods that are produced using methods that do not
involve modern synthetic inputs such as synthetic pesticides and
chemical fertilizers, do not contain genetically modified organisms, and
are not processed using irradiation, industrial solvents, or chemical
food additives.
What are the benefits of eating organic food?
Whilst you may not notice a huge difference in taste (although many do
believe organic food tastes much better) the considerations for buying
organic range far beyond consumer’s preference to avoid foods that have
been tampered with by man made chemicals and genetically modified
ingredients.
Part of the justification for consuming organic food is also that the
organic farming methods used to produce these products are far less
damaging to the environment than conventional farming.
Some of the reasons for this include:
1. Organic farms do not consume or release synthetic pesticides into the
environment, some of which have the potential to harm soil, water and
local terrestrial and aquatic wildlife.
2. Organic farms are better than conventional farms at sustaining
diverse ecosystems. i.e. populations of plants and insects, as well as
animals.
3. When calculated per unit area, organic farms use less energy and
produce less waste (such as packaging materials for chemicals). In fact,
organic farming can actually produce positive environmental benefits
according to a 2003 study by UK Department of Environmental and Rural
Affairs.
